Default Cherohala Skyway... via bicycle

I know you guys like pictures...

Me (BobMarley), Lyns (wife on green bike) and our friend Dan. GPS claims the climb is just over 8100', with combined ascents. Mileage was just under 62, up and back. We rode from Tellico Plains to the Santeetlah overlook, and back.

Yes.. it was very difficult. Yes.. I am doing it again, next year.

Sounds like a nice slow ride in which you could take in all the sights. I wish I had the energy to do that.

I didn't see any cheeseburgers or fries on the volunteers snack table.

If I was going to pedal that far I'd want something more substantial than granola bars and orange wedges lol

Seriously heck of an accomplishment

Uphill, I saw speeds as low as 4 mph. Downhill, I was cruising along at 46 mph.

Yeah, I had a huge Dagwood when I got back to Tellico. Then, we stopped by the grocery store and grabbed chicken breasts, squash, zucchini and potato salad. And beer. Lots and lots of beer.

I mostly ate PB&J sandwiches on the way up, plus some Skittles, a few energy goo packs and fruit. Sugar is what gets you up the mountain. That, and a penchant for suffering. It was a hard climb. Hardest ride I've done, to date.
