Default Michilin Commander II tires

Ok for what it's worth here's my take on them.

Bought a set last fall.130/90B16 73H
I'm used to running Dunlops and avg. around 11k out of a rear tire and 22k or so on the front.

I just changed the rear out and put my Dunlops back on( I had swapped out when I had a rotor warp going on).

The front tire is about 1/2 wear and the rear tire still had vestiges of tread left in the very middle(could see it and barely feel it with fingernail)

The rear tire had 14k on it

That's an extra 3k miles of wear and around $30-$40 less a tire.

I felt like I had more grip with the Michilins too. In the rain you didn't get that squirelly feeling on tar snakes, and I credit them for us not going down in the middle of Akron on Thanksgiving day last year. I misjudged speed hitting a S turn off ramp on 76 trying to beat a semi onto the ramp. I used both lanes to get thru it and in the first half I literally dragged the frame of the bik where it starts it's upsweep at the rear of the main frame.. also dragged the inner portion of the floorboard mount too. Totally my fault and not sure without the grip I would have kept the bike up.

Just my thoughts on them.

Default I had them on the Triumph R3T

I had Michelin Commander IIs put on that Rocket III Touring I had. They were the bias ply version and ditto on the tar snakes etc as well as the better grip. That big bike actually handled better with the Michelins than it did with the OEM Metzler radials. I never got to wear them out because of the big snafu with Thiel's Wheels & Triumph over a warranteed transmission part that failed before the warranty expired. I traded it in on my Victory shortly after the 43 day long ordeal ended.
